1½ | teaspoon | Chili Powder |
½ | teaspoon | Crushed Dried Red Pepper |
½ | teaspoon | Sugar |
2 | tablespoons | Instant Minced Onion |
1 | teaspoon | Seasoned Salt |
½ | teaspoon | Instant Minced Garlic |
½ | teaspoon | Ground Cumin |
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and blend well. Spoon mixture into a 6-inch square of aluminum foil and fold to make it airtight and label as Chili Seasoning Mix. Store in a cool, dry place and use within 6 months.
Makes 1 package (about ¼ cup) of mix. To make additional packages, increase ingredient amounts using the above recipe. Chili: Brown 1 lb of lean ground beef in a medium skillet over medium-high heat; drain. Add 2 (15½ oz) cans of kidney beans, 2 (16 oz) cans of tomatoes and 1 pkg of seasoning mix. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
