Chimayo chile sauce (hl)

Ingredients

6 | Chimayo chilies, seeded and stemmed | |
½ | medium | Yellow onion, sliced |
2 | Cloves garlic | |
2 | cups | Water |
1 | Bay leaf | |
Salt to taste |
Directions
Combine all ingredients except salt in a sauce pan and bring to a boil.
Simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and blend until very smooth adding water if necessary. Salt to taste. Strain through fine mesh strainer.
Yield: 6 servings
