Favorite chocolate carmel nut bars

1 pack 14oz caramels,48
1 can 5oz evaporated milk, divided
1 pack 2layer size,german chocolate
Cake mix with pudding
½ cup Margarine or butter, melted
cup Walnuts,chopped and divided
1 cup Semi-sweet real chocolate
Chips, divided

Directions

heat oven to 350 degrees. melt caramels with ⅓ cup of the milk in heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth. set aside. mix remaining milk, cake mix, and margarine or butter in large bowl. press ½ of the cake mixture onto the bottom of 13 x 9 inch baking pan. bake 8 min. sprinkle 1 cup of walnuts and ½ cup of chips over crust, top with carmel mixture, spreading to edges of pan.

top with teaspoons of remaining cake mixture, press gently into carmel mixture. sprinkle with remaining ½ cup walnuts and ½ cup chips. bake 18 min. cool, cut into bars.
