Ingredients

½ cup Butter Or Margarine;Softened
1 cup Brown Sugar; Packed
3 Eggs; Large
1 teaspoon Lemon Peel, Grated
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 cup Flour; Unbleached
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
½ teaspoon Salt
cup Figs; Dried, Finely Chopped

Directions

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, peel and vanilla; beat well. Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt; blend into creamed mixture.

Stir in figs. Pour into greased 13 X 9 X 2-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes. Cool; cut into bars. Makes 32 bars.
