1 | tablespoon | COARSELY GROUND BLACK PEPPER |
1 | tablespoon | CHILI POWDER |
2 | teaspoons | RED PEPPER FLAKES; (up TO 3) |
Directions
MAKES ABOUT 7 CUPS
IN A LARGE SAUCEPAN, WHISK TOGETHER THE TOMATO SAUCE AND MUSTARD. STIR IN REMAINING INGREDIENTS. BRING TO A BOIL. REDUCE HEAT TO LOW, AND SIMMER FOR 1 HOUR, STIRRING OCCASIONALLY AND TASTING TO ADJUST SEASONINGS. SERVE WARM.
REFRIGERATE UNUSED SAUCE UP TO SEVERAL WEEKS.
USES: AS FINISHING AND TABLE SAUCE ON RIBS AND CHICKEN, ALSO GOOD ON HAMBURGERS.
