1 can (29 OUNCE) TOMATO SAUCE
¼ cup YELLOW MUSTARD
2 cups WATER
1 cup CIDER VINEGAR
1 cup HONEY
cup PACKED BROWN SUGAR
1 large ONION MINCED
1 LEMON ; JUICE OF
1 tablespoon COARSELY GROUND BLACK PEPPER
1 tablespoon CHILI POWDER
2 teaspoons RED PEPPER FLAKES; (up TO 3)

MAKES ABOUT 7 CUPS

IN A LARGE SAUCEPAN, WHISK TOGETHER THE TOMATO SAUCE AND MUSTARD. STIR IN REMAINING INGREDIENTS. BRING TO A BOIL. REDUCE HEAT TO LOW, AND SIMMER FOR 1 HOUR, STIRRING OCCASIONALLY AND TASTING TO ADJUST SEASONINGS. SERVE WARM.

REFRIGERATE UNUSED SAUCE UP TO SEVERAL WEEKS.

USES: AS FINISHING AND TABLE SAUCE ON RIBS AND CHICKEN, ALSO GOOD ON HAMBURGERS.
