Ginger snaps {fredericksburg}

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
cup Sugar
1 cup Shortening
1 cup Molasses
1 Egg
¼ teaspoon Salt
2 teaspoons Soda
3 teaspoons Ginger
4 cups Flour

Directions

Cream shortening, sugar and ginger. Add unbeaten egg and beat well. Add molasses and mix thoroughly. Sift flour, soda and salt five times. Add to creamed mixture. Form into little balls and bake in slow oven, 325ø - 350ø on greased cookie sheet, 12 to 15 minutes.
