Herman coffeecake

1 cup Sugar
cup Oil
2 Eggs
2 cups Herman Starter -- * see

2 cups All-purpose flour
2 teaspoons Baking powder
½ teaspoon Baking soda
teaspoon Cinnamon
Topping
1 cup Brown sugar, packed
4 tablespoons Butter or margarine
1 tablespoon Flour
½ teaspoon Cinnamon

Directions

* You can use Herman starter or Friendship Sourdough starter in this recipe.

For batter: beat sugar into oil and eggs; add starter. Combine flour, baking powder, soda and cinnamon; add to starter mixture. Pour batter into a lightly greased 9 by 13-inch pan.

For topping: cut together the sugar, butter, flour and cinnamon until crumbly. Sprinkle over batter in pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes, or until cake is golden brown and pulls away from edges of pan. Serve warm.
