Holiday almond tea bread

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
¾ cup Dried apricots, chopped
¼ cup Butter or margarine
¾ cup Sugar
1 cup Boiling water
1 Egg, beaten
1 cup Flour
1 cup Wholewheat flour
1 teaspoon Baking soda
½ cup Almonds, chopped

Directions

Preheat oven to 350øF. Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan and line it with nonstick or wax paper. Combine the apricots, butter or margarine, sugar and boiling water. Stir until melted. Allow to cool. Mix in t he egg, flours and baking soda. Add the almonds and spoon the mixture into the prepared pan. Level the top and bake for about 1 hour, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
