Home made chicken gravy base and recipe

Ingredients

1⅓ | cup | Dry milk powder |
¾ | cup | All purpose flour |
3 | tablespoons | Chicken bouillon granules |
¼ | teaspoon | Ground sage |
½ | cup | Butter or margarine |
⅛ | teaspoon | Yellow food color |
1 | cup | Cold water |
½ | cup | Chicken gravy mix |
Directions
CHICKEN GRAVY MIX
GRAVY
MIX Combine milk powder, flour, chicken bouillon and sage, cut in margarine and food coloring until pieces resemble cornmeal. Store in tightly covered container in the refrigerator up to 2 months. Makes about 3 cups mix.
GRAVY In saucepan blend cold water into gravy base mix. Cook and stir until mixture is thickened and bubbly. Cook 1 minute more. Makes 1 cup gravy.
