Homemade crackers
1 Servings
Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredient | |
---|---|---|
3 | cups | Uncooked oatmeal |
2 | cups | Unbleached flour (I just use regular) |
1 | cup | Wheat germ |
3 | Tblesp sugar | |
1 | teaspoon | Salt |
¾ | cup | Oil |
1 | cup | Water |
Directions
Mix ingredients and roll out onto two cookie sheets. (I use a plastic tumbler for this.) Sprinkle with additional salt, lightly roll again to press salt in. Cut into squares or diamonds. (A pizza cutter works well, with a little touch-up from a knife at the edges.) Bake at 350 deg. After 20 minutes begin checking. The outer ones are usually ready first. Remove crackers as they turn golden brown and hard. Optional: add a few tablespoons of either poppy or sesame seeds.
