½ | cup | Sliced mushrooms and liquid |
1 | cup | Chopped onion |
1 | teaspoon | Oregano |
1 | large | Crushed garlic clove |
½ | teaspoon | Basil |
3½ | cup | Whole peeled tomatoes |
1 | teaspoon | Salt |
⅔ | cup | Tomato paste |
⅛ | teaspoon | Pepper |
½ | cup | Water |
Directions
Brown ground chuck or hamburger with onion and garlic in large saucepan. Drain off fat. Add remaining ingredients. Stir to break up tomatoes. Boil gently, uncovered 1 hour. Stir occasionally. Serve over hot cooked pasta.
