2 | cups | Sugar |

3 | cups | Flour |
1 | cup | Blackberry jam |
1 | teaspoon | (scant) soda |
1 | teaspoon | Cinnamon |
1 | teaspoon | Cloves |
1 | cup | Fresh buttermilk |
1 | can | Crushed pineapple |
1½ | cup | Sugar (use less if the pineapple syrup is heavy) |
1 | tablespoon | Butter |
1 | tablespoon | Flour |
Directions
FILLING
Cream butter and sugar together; add eggs. Combine soda, spices and flour.
Alternate flour mixture and buttermilk in egg mixture. Add jam. Bake in 3 pans at 350 degrees.
To make filling: Mix all ingredients and boil until thickened. Spread on cake.
