Leg of lamb a l'ail en chemise

Ingredients

1 Leg of lamb weighing 1 kg.
3 Bulbs garlic.
3 tablespoons Groundnut oil.
Salt; pepper.

Directions

1 Preheat the oven (gas mark 7 / 425F / 220C). Separate the cloves of garlic, put them in an ovenproof dish without peeling them.

2 Brush oil all over the leg of lamb and put it in the dish on top of the garlic cloves. Season the meat. Cook for 50 minutes.

3 When the lamb is cooked, serve it with the garlic cloves in their skins.

"En chemise" is the term used to describe ingredients which are wrapped in something or which are cooked in their natural covering.
