Malayan curried fish bites

Salt and pepper to taste | ||
1 | teaspoon | Lemon juice |
1 | teaspoon | Crushed red pepper |
8 | Peppercorns | |
1 | teaspoon | Coriander |
½ | teaspoon | Cumin |
1 | Garlic clove, minced | |
1 | small | White onion |
½ | teaspoon | Turmeric or curry powder |
1 | cup | Coconut milk |
Directions
Cut cod into ¾ inch squares. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and lemon juice. Grind to a paste (in mortar or electric blender) the red pepper, peppercorns, coriander, cumin, garlic, onion and turmeric (or curry powder) with about 1 tablespoon Coconut milk; add to remaining milk. Cook the fish in the Coconut milk about 10 minutes, until fish flakes easily. Serve fish bites warm or cold from the sauce.
