1½ | pounds | Fresh mushrooms, sliced (about 8 cups) |
1 | cup | Chopped onion |
1½ | tablespoon | Minced garlic |
2 | teaspoons | Dried oregano |
1 | teaspoon | Salt (optional) |
½ | teaspoon | Black pepper |
Directions
======================================================= ============== ==== == In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat for about 5 minutes, or until crisp. Remove to a paper towel to drain, then crumble and set aside. Pour off all but 4 tablespoons of the fat from the skillet. Add the mushrooms, onions, and garlic; sauté NOTE: Use to top scrambled eggs or mashed potatoes, or place over broiled chicken or steak. Smother your meat loaf in Mushroom "Everything", or even your fried fish or roast pork. The choice is up to you. (And leftovers can be frozen for later use)
