Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
pounds Dried beans -- soaked
Overnight
5 cups Water
1 medium Onion
1 tablespoon Salt
1 cup Brown sugar
2 tablespoons Molasses
2 teaspoons Dry mustard
cup Ketchup
½ pounds Bacon -- cut in cubes
Water -- to cover

Directions

Soak beans overnight in 5 cups water, then simmer until the skins begin to break. Add remaining ingredients and cover with water.

Cover pan and bake in a pit for 5 to 6 hours.
