Old herefordshire cider cake

8 | ounces | Flour |
4 | ounces | Sugar |
¼ | pounds | Butter |
2 | eaches | Eggs |
½ | each | Grated nutmeg |
1 | Teacup of cider | |
1 | each | Level Tspn baking soda |
Directions
Beat the butter and sugar into a cream. . Add the eggs, well beaten, then the 4 oz of flour sifted with the baking soda and nutmeg. . Pour over all the cider, beaten to a froth. Mix thoroughly. . Stir in remainder of the flour and mix well together. . Bake in a shallow, well-greased tin, for 45 minutes in a moderate oven.
