Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
½ cup Butter, melted
1 cup Sugar
2 Eggs, slightly beaten
½ teaspoon Lemon rind, grated
½ teaspoon Oil of anise
2 cups All-purpose flour, sifted
teaspoon Cinnamon
½ teaspoon Cloves
½ teaspoon Soda
½ cup Citron, finely chopped
cup Blanched almonds fully chopped
Powdered sugar for rolling

Directions

Blend butter, sugar and eggs; add lemon rind, citron, and anise oil.

Blend in sifted dry ingredients and almonds. Shape level teaspoonfuls of dough into balls. Place on greased cooky sheets.

Bake at 350 about 14 min. Roll in powdered sugar while warm. Store in airtight container.
