Poached pears with ginger

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
4 Comice or Naji pears; peeled, stalks left
; on
½ pint White wine
3 Floz water
2 ounces Sugar
½ Lemon; rind of
Vanilla pod
1 3/4 inch pie fresh ginger; chopped

Directions

Place all the ingredients in a saucepan, simmer until the pears are tender.

Serve hot or cold with a raspberry or apricot coulis.
