Salsa verde (green sauce)

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 mediums Onions -- chopped
1 cup Canned diced green chiles
Yellow hot chiles -- diced
1 cup Canned whole tomatoes -- crushed
1 tablespoon Oregano
½ teaspoon Black pepper
¾ teaspoon Garlic powder
¼ cup Chopped green onions
2 tablespoons Chopped bell pepper
2 quarts Beef broth

Directions

Combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil, let simmer 1 hour. If needed, add roux to thicken.

Roux: Melt 1 stick of butter. Blend in ¾ cup sifted flour. Can be refrigerated until needed.
