Sandra boynton's chocolate chip cookies

Ingredients

¾ | cup | Butter |
¾ | cup | Light brown sugar |
¼ | cup | Dark brown sugar |
1 | Egg | |
1 | teaspoon | Vanilla |
1⅓ | cup | Flour, all-purpose |
¾ | teaspoon | Baking soda |
6 | ounces | Bittersweet chocolate |
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 F. Cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat egg and vanilla into creamed sugars. Sift flour and baking soda together, then add to egg/vanilla/sugars mix. Chop chocolate into pieces, then stir into mix. It is traditional to sample the batter at this point before proceeding. Drop the remaining batter (if any) by teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet.
Bake for about ten minutes.
