Shella's pinto beans

7 | cups | Water (approximate) |
Pepper -- to taste | ||
½ | pounds | Sausage meat -- cut up |
For sausage meat I use | ||
Owens | ||
1 | pack | Chili-O Mix |
¼ | cup | Sugar |
Directions
Cover rinsed, sorted beans with water in Crockpot. Add package Chilo-O mix and pepper. Cook on low overnight. The following morning add ½ lb.
uncooked Owens breakfast sausage (the kind that comes in a plastic tube) and ¼ cup sugar. Stir occasionally.
Cook on high about 4 hours longer.
