Simple chili

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
3 pounds Coarse ground chili meat
1 tablespoon Onion salt
2 tablespoons Garlic powder
3 tablespoons Chili powder
2 tablespoons Ground Cumin
3 tablespoons Tabasco sauce
15 ounces Can Tomato Sauce
15 ounces Can Whole Tomatoes
7 ounces Can Tomato Paste
15 ounces Water
OPTIONAL - -
½ tablespoon Cornstarch, for thickening

Directions

Brown chili meat, then pour off fat/grease. Run hot water over meat to remove additional grease. (Using a strainer, collander or sieve helps)

Add remaining ingredients. Bring to boil, stirring. Reduce to low heat and simmer 2 hours covered. Chop whole tomatoes as they cook.

Add the cornstarch during the last ½ hour to thicken the liquid if needed.

Serve with saltine crackers.
