Ingredients

1 | large | Onion, chopped |
1½ | pounds | Hamburger |
1½ | teaspoon | Salt |
28 | ounces | Can whole tomatoes |
¼ | teaspoon | Pepper |
¾ | cup | Rice, uncooked |
2 | teaspoons | Chili powder |
Directions
Cook onions in a little oil until yellow. Add hamburger and saute' until mixture falls apart. Drain. Set aside. Pour tomatoes into a 2 or 3 qt. casserole and break apart or mash with a potato masher.
Add rice and seasonings. Pour in hamburger/onion mixture. Stir to mix. Cover casserole and bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour. Serves 4.
Variations: You can use pureed tomatoes instead of whole tomatoes.
