Urulakazhangu kaarakari (spicy potato curry)

Ingredients

1 | kilograms | Potatoes; boiled and mashed |
1 | teaspoon | Turmeric |
2 | teaspoons | Sambar powder |
Juice of 1 lemon | ||
2 | Sprigs curry leaves; chopped | |
Salt; to taste -For Seasoning--- | ||
2 | teaspoons | Black mustard seeds |
4 | teaspoons | Black gram dal |
2 | Red chiles; broken | |
4 | tablespoons | Coconut oil |
Directions
Heat oil and add mustard seeds, black gram dal and red chilies. When brown, add turmeric and curry leaves. Fry for a minute and add mashed potatoes, salt and sambar powder. Cook on a low fire till dry. Add lemon juice and mix well. Serve hot.
