Urulakazhangu kaarakari (spicy potato curry)

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 kilograms Potatoes; boiled and mashed
1 teaspoon Turmeric
2 teaspoons Sambar powder
Juice of 1 lemon
2 Sprigs curry leaves; chopped
Salt; to taste -For Seasoning---
2 teaspoons Black mustard seeds
4 teaspoons Black gram dal
2 Red chiles; broken
4 tablespoons Coconut oil

Directions

Heat oil and add mustard seeds, black gram dal and red chilies. When brown, add turmeric and curry leaves. Fry for a minute and add mashed potatoes, salt and sambar powder. Cook on a low fire till dry. Add lemon juice and mix well. Serve hot.
