Ingredients

6 | cups | Water (up to 8) |
2 | cups | Beef broth |
3 | Carrots, diced (up to 4) | |
4 | Potatoes, diced (up to 5) | |
1 | cup | Corn |
24 | ounces | Tomato sauce |
1 | can | (16-oz) chili hot beans |
1 | pounds | Hamburger or ground turkey |
Salt, pepper, onion, and chili powder to taste |
Directions
Bring water and broth to a boil in a dutch oven. Add carrots and potatoes (and onions if desired), reduce heat, and simmer for 45 min. to 1 hour. Add corn. In a skillet, brown meat. Drain and season with salt and pepper to taste. Add meat, tomato sauce, and beans to soup. Season with chili powder to taste (1-5 tblesp.?) Continue to cook over low heat until flavors are thoroughly blended, 15-30 min. (or everyone is so hungry from the smell they can't take it anymore!)
