Weepy salad

Ingredients

1 | Head lettuce in small chunks | |
½ | To 1 cup mayonnaise for a thin cover | |
1 | Red onion (or white) sliced very thin | |
3 | teaspoons | Granulated sugar |
1½ | cup | Cooked peas, fresh or frozen |
1½ | cup | Swiss cheese cut in strips |
6 | Bacon slices cooked and crumbled |
Directions
Place one third lettuce chunks in bottom of bowl. Spread a few spoons of mayonnaise over top. Layer one third of thin onion slices over. Sprinkle lightly with sugar, about 1 tsp. Sugar all the onion as this causes them to weep. Put on one third of peas followed by one third cheese. Repeat layers twice. Cover and chill for 2-3 hours. Before serving, sprinkle bacon over top.
