Quantity | Ingredient | |
---|---|---|
2 | cups | Flour; + for rolling out |
2 | teaspoons | Baking powder; (heaping) |
¼ | teaspoon | Salt |
1 | cup | Milk; (approximate) |
¼ | cup | Shortening |
Vegetable oil |
Directions
Melt shortening in pan. Mix shortening and ingredients other than milk toge ther. Gradually add milk and mix. You have the right amount of milk when the dough is a sticky consistency. Oil a baking pan and set aside. Dump the dough out on a floured board and cover with enough flour so that it isn't sticky. Roll dough out ½ inch high and cut out biscuits with a floured glass or biscuit cutter. Dunk the biscuits in the oil and flip them over.
Bake at 500 degrees for 15 minutes.
