Baked rice with almonds

½ each MEDIUM ONION, CHOPPED
½ cup SLIVERED ALMONDS
2 tablespoons BUTTER
1 cup RICE
1 cup WATER
1 cup CHICKEN BROTH

Directions

IN A FLAME PROOF 1½ QUART BAKING DISH SAUTE ONION AND ALMONDS UNTIL GOLDEN, 3 TO 5 MINUTES. ADD RICE AND STIR TO MIX. BRING WATER AND BROTH TO A BOIL. POUR OVER RICE MIXTURE. BAKE UNCOVERED AT 375 DEG F FOR 20 TO 25 MINUTES OR UNTIL ALL LIQUID IS ABSORBED BY THE RICE.
