½ | cup | Sugar |
2 | teaspoons | Baking powder |
½ | teaspoon | Salt |
3 | tablespoons | Shortening |
1 | Egg, beaten | |
½ | cup | Milk |
Melted butter | ||
2 | tablespoons | Butter |
2 | tablespoons | Sugar |
¼ | cup | Flour |
¼ | cup | Dry cake crumbs |
½ | teaspoon | Cinnamon |
Directions
STREUSEL CRUMBS
Sift together the dry ingredients. Work shortening in with fingertips or two knives. Stir in egg and milk; press lightly into greased cake pan. Pour melted butter over top, sprinkle with streusel crumbs and bake in a 400 degree oven for about half an hour. Cut into wedges and serve warm. Have the coffee all ready Streusel Crumbs: Cream butter and sugar; add flour, finely ground cake crumbs (you can use bread crumbs if you don't have any cake crumbs.) and cinnamon. Mix till crumbly and sprinkle on top of dough.
