Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
cup Butter
2 ounces Unsweetened baking chocolate
1 cup Sugar
2 Eggs, well-beaten
cup Sifted flour
½ teaspoon Baking powder
¼ teaspoon Salt
½ cup Chopped walnuts
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Directions

Preheat oven to 350oF. Melt butter and chocolate together in top of double boiler over hot water. In large mixing bowl, gradually add sugar to eggs; beat thoroughly. Add melted chocolate mixture; blend well.

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together into separate bowl; stir into chocolate mixture. Add nuts and vanilla; mix well. Spread mixture in greased 8" square baking pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool in pan, then cut into squares.
