Caribbean pork chops with apple island sauce

⅓ | cup | Chopped onion |
⅓ | cup | Lemon juice |
1 | tablespoon | Vegetable oil |
2 | teaspoons | Light brown sugar |
1 | teaspoon | Chicken-flavor instant bouillon |
¾ | teaspoon | Ground allspice |
¾ | teaspoon | Black pepper |
¾ | teaspoon | Cinnamon |
¾ | teaspoon | Thyme leaves |
¼ | teaspoon | Cayenne pepper; to 1/2 tsp. |
4 | Boneless pork loin chops |
Directions
Combine all ingredients except meat. Place meat in shallow dish or plastic bag, Pour marinade over meat. Cover; marinate in refrigerator 4 hours or overnight. Remove meat from marinade; heat marinade. Grill or broil as desired, basting frequently with marinade. Serve with Apple Island Sauce.
Refrigerate leftovers.
APPLE ISLAND SAUCE: In small saucepan, combine 1-½ cups chunky applesauce, ½ cup water, 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons sugar and 2 teaspoons lemon juice. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 10 to 15 minutes. Makes 4 servings.
