Chicken au grand' marnier

Ingredients

½ cup Oranges
1 teaspoon Basil
½ cup Grand Marnier
1 Clove garlic, minced
cup Sliced frozen peaches
3 pounds Cut up chicken
6 tablespoons Brown sugar
2 tablespoons Vinegar
½ cup Flour
1 teaspoon Nutmeg
1 teaspoon Salt
Vegetable shortening
teaspoon Pepper

Directions

Place about ½ Tbsp. of shortening in a heavy skillet. Combine oranges, Grand Marnier and peaches in a saucepan with the sugar, vinegar, nutmeg, basil and garlic, and cook slowly about 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, dredge chicken in seasoned flour and brown in vegetable shortening in a skillet. Remove chicken from skillet, pour off the shortening, retaining the residue in bottom of skillet. Recover and simmer about 20 minutes.
