Chilled herb fried chicken

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
cup All-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon EACH:thyme,marjoram and celery salt
¼ teaspoon EACH:pepper,paprika and poultry seasoning
1 Frying chicken(2 3/4 to 3 1/4 lbs.),cut up or use chicken pieces
cup Butter Flavor Crisco

Directions

Combine flour, salt,herbs and spices in plastic bag. Shake chicken pieces, a few at a time, in seasoned flour. Melt Butter Flavor Crisco in large skillet over medium heat. (Use 360 degree setting for electric skillet.) Fry chicken, uncovered, without lowering heat, 30 to 40 minutes or until done. Turn 4 or 5 times during frying.

Drain on adsorbent paper. Cool, uncovered, 1 hour at room temperature.

Chill, uncovered, several hours or overnight in refrigerator before packing in covered container to be packing in picnic cooler.
