Chocolate cookie cake

Ingredients

1 | pack | Chocolate cake mix |
1¼ | cup | Water |
½ | cup | Butter or margarine -- |
Softened | ||
3 | Eggs | |
1 | cup | Chocolate sandwich cookies |
(about 10) -- crushed | ||
1 | can | Vanilla frosting |
Directions
Heat oven to 350. Generously grease and flour 2 9" pans. Beat cake mix, water, margarine and eggs in large bowl on low speed 30 seconds.
Beat on medium speed 2 minutes. Reserve 2 tbsp of the crushed cookies. Fold remaining crushed cookies into batter. Pour into pans. Bake 30 to 37 minutes. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans.
Cool cake completely. Crush reserved cookies finely; mix into frosting. Fill layers and frost side and top of cake with frosting.
If, desired, garnish with additional chocolate cookies cut in half.
