Chocolate snack cake from mix

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 cups Snack-cake mix
¼ cup Unsweetened cocoa
1 Egg, slightly beaten
1 teaspoon Vanilla
¾ cup Ice water
teaspoon Shortening
1 teaspoon Confectioners' sugar

Directions

In 8-inch layer-cake or square pan, stir cake mix and cocoa with rubber spatula until well blended. Briskly stir in egg, vanilla, ice water & shortening until well blended. Scrape down sides of pan.

Bake in preheated 375 degree oven 30 minutes or until pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on rack. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. Submitted By TERRI WOLTMON On 04-05-95
