Crushed red berry sauce

Ingredients

1½ | cup | Strawberries; sliced |
3 | tablespoons | Sugar |
1 | cup | Raspberries |
Directions
In a medium size bowl, sprinkle the strawberries with the sugar. Cover and let stand at room temperature for 1 hour allowing the berries to form their own syrup.
Mash the berries with a potato masher or wooden spoon, then add the raspberries and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour to let the flavors mellow.
