Dessert lemon sauce

2 cups

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
¾ cup Sugar
2 tablespoons Cornstarch
teaspoon Grated lemon rind
2 cups Water
5 tablespoons Butter
3 tablespoons Lemon juice
dash Salt
2 dashes Angostura bitters, opt'l

Directions

In a double boiler or a heavy sauce pan, combine and stir until thickened the sugar, starch, rind and water. Remove from the heat and add the butter, juice, salt and bitters. Mix and serve hot over puddings or cakes. Submitted By JIM WELLER On 05-04-95
