French pear pie sl

9 inch pie

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
6 cups Peeled and sliced pears
2 tablespoons Lemon juice
cup Sugar
cup All-purpose flour
½ teaspoon Ground ginger
cup Light corn syrup
1 each Unbaked 9-inch pastry shell
cup All-purpose flour
cup Firmly packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons Butter or margarine

Directions

Combine pears and lemon juice; toss gently. Combine sugar, ⅓ cup flour, and ginger; add sugar mixture and corn syrup to pears. Spoon mixture into pastry shell.

Combine ⅓ cup flour and brown sugar in a small bowl; blend well.

Add butter; mix until crumbly. Sprinkle on pear mixture. Bake at 450 degrees F for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F, and bake 30 minutes longer. Yield: One 9-inch pie.
