Gin punch

Ingredients

| 2 | cups | Sugar | 
| 48 | ounces | Pineapple juice | 
| 48 | ounces | Grapefruit juice | 
| 8 | ounces | Cherries, maraschino; undrnd | 
| 2 | cups | Gin | 
| 33¾ | ounce | Ginger ale; chilled | 
Directions
Combine water and sugar in a large saucepan; bring to a boil, and stir until dissolved.  Cool.
