Good old-fashioned pancake syrup

2 | Boxes (1-lb) dark brown sugar | |
1 | cup | Granulated sugar |
4 | cups | Water |
¾ | cup | Dark Karo syrup |
1 | tablespoon | Maple flavoring |
Directions
From: Cheryl Miller <csmiller@...> Date: Sun, 28 Jul 1996 22:48:56 +0000 Combine brown and granulated sugars, salt, water and corn syrup in a large saucepan. Stir over medium high heat until sugar dissolves. Boil briskly for 10 minutes or until syrup is full-bofied when poured from spoon.
Mixture should be about 7 cups. Cool to lukewarm. Stir in maple flavoring.
Funnel into sterilized bottles or other gift containers. Cover. Store in refrigerator for up to 4 weeks. Makes 7 cups.
