Hickory nut drop cookies

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 cups Sugar
1 cup Shortening; beat well
2 eaches Eggs
1 cup Milk; sour
Or
1 cup Buttermilk
4 cups Flour
1 teaspoon Baking soda
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1 cup Nuts; chopped
1 cup Raisins; chopped

Directions

Sift soda and baking powder in with flour.

Note: Combine remaining ingredients, mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Bake in moderate 375 F. oven.
