Holiday fruit and cheese ring

Ingredients

½ cup Milk (70-80'F.)
2 tablespoons Water (70-80'F.)
1 large Egg
1 tablespoon Butter or margarine
½ teaspoon Salt
cup Bread flour
4 teaspoons Sugar
teaspoon FLEISCHMANN'S Bread Machine Yeast
1 cup Sifted powdered sugar
4 teaspoons Milk
1 pack Cream cheese, softened (3oz)
½ cup Dried cranberries or dried tart pitted cherries, coarsely chopped OR
¼ cup Coarsely chopped candied cherries
4 teaspoons Sugar
½ teaspoon Vanilla extract

Directions

VANILLA ICING

ADD first 8 ingredients into bread machine in order suggested by manufacturer. PROCESS in dough/manual cycle. Remove dough to floured surface. If necessary, knead in enough flour to make dough easy to handle. Roll to 15x8" rectangle. Combine cream cheese, cranberries and remaining sugar; spread over dough to within ½" of edges.

Beginning at long end, roll up tightly as for jelly roll. Pinch seam to seal. Form into ring; pinch ends together. Place ring, seam side down, on greased baking sheet. Cut slits, starting from outer edge, ¾ through dough at 1" intervals. Turn each section on its side to show filling. Cover; let rise in warm, draft-free place until doubled, about 30-45 minutes. Bake at 375'F. for 25-30 minutes, covering with foil after 15 minutes. Remove from sheet, cool on wire rack. Frost with icing.

ICING: In small bowl, combine sifted powdered sugar, milk and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
