2 | teaspoons | Toasted sesame seeds |
¼ | cup | Soy sauce |
2 | teaspoons | Vinegar |
2 | teaspoons | Minced fresh ginger root |
½ | teaspoon | Sugar |
½ | cup | Water |
1½ | pounds | Pickerel or other fillets |
2 | teaspoons | Cornstarch |
2 | Green onions, chopped |
Directions
In a mortar, grind sesame seeds. Brush sesame powder into a small sauce pan and add soy sauce, vinegar, ginger, sugar and water and mix together. Brush both sides of fish with some of the sauce. Broil about 5 minutes, or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.
Meanwhile, blend cornstarch with the remaining mixture in the saucepan. Bring to boil; cook and stir until sauce thickens. Just before serving, spoon sauce over cooked fish. Sprinkle with chopped green onion and serve. Submitted By JIM WELLER On 03-26-95
