1½ | tablespoon | Ketchup |
1 | slice | Fresh ginger (quarter-sized) bruised |
¼ | teaspoon | Salt |
3 | drops | Tabasco sauce |
Directions
Every Chinese cook has his own version of this. This one is intended for quick cooking in an American kitchen.
IN A SAUCEPAN, combine the vinegar, sugar, ketchup, ginger, salt and Tabasco sauce; bring to a boil. Continue cooking over high heat and reduce to the consistency of a light syrup that lightly coats a spoon.
