Lamb pilaf (baranini pilaff)

3 | pounds | Lamb breast, boned and cubed |
3 | tablespoons | Butter |
3 | Onions, cut in half | |
¼ | teaspoon | Salt or more to taste |
¼ | teaspoon | Black pepper |
1½ | cup | Raw rice |
4 | cups | Hot water |
Directions
from:the wonderful World of cooking Saute lamb in butter for 5 minutes. Add onions, slt and peppers, stirring until very brown. Add water and rice. Mix. Cover. Bake at 300 deg for 2 hours. 6-8 servings.
