Ingredients

| 1 | cup | Raisins |
| 1 | cup | Water |
| ½ | cup | Lard |
| 1 | teaspoon | Baking soda |
| 2 | cups | Flour |
| ½ | teaspoon | Salt |
| 1 | teaspoon | Cinnamon |
| 1 | teaspoon | Ground cloves |
| 1 | teaspoon | Nutmeg |
Directions
In a medium sized saucepan, mix together sugar, raisins, water and lard. Bring to a boil and stir in baking soda. Cool and add flour, salt and spices. Mix well. Bake in moderate oven.
