Mary's apple pie syrup

Ingredients

1 can Apple pie filling
½ Stick butter; (1/4 cup)
¼ cup Brown sugar; packed
¼ cup Rum; optional
2 Ma, r 1998

Directions

Put pie filling in the blender and pulse until it chopped up, but NOT pureed. Place it in a small sauce pan together with the butter and brown sugar. Bring to a boil; lower heat and simmer for about 10 minutes. Add rum, if desired, and remove from the heat. Serve with pancakes or waffles.
