Mary's raisin-oatmeal cookies

1 | cup | Butter; softened |
1½ | cup | Sugar |
1 | large | Egg |
¼ | cup | Water |
1 | teaspoon | Vanilla extract |
1½ | cup | All-purpose flour |
1 | teaspoon | Baking soda |
½ | teaspoon | Salt |
¾ | teaspoon | Ground cinnamon |
¾ | teaspoon | Ground nutmeg |
3 | cups | Oats, uncooked; quick cooking |
1 | cup | Raisins |
Directions
Cream butter; gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add egg, and beat well. Blend in water and vanilla. Sift flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg together. Add to the creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in oats and raisins. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool slightly on cookie sheets; remove to wire racks and cool completely. Yield: about 3½-4 dozen. Me ke aloha, Mary NOTES : E hele mai oukou e ai! (Come and eat!)
