Mock pecan pie

Ingredients

9 eaches Inch unbaked pie shell
1 cup Grapenuts cereal
1 cup Brown sugar, packed firm
¼ cup Melted margine
3 eaches Eggs, beaten
¾ cup Lukewarm water
1 cup Dark corn syrup
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
pinch Of salt

Directions

Soak the grapenuts in the ¾ cup lukewarm water until all water has been completely absorbed. In saucepan, mix sugar, syrup, margarine and salt. Bring to a boil, and stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat. Meanwhile, beat eggs until foamy. Add a little bit of the hot mixture to the beaten egg mixture. Continue adding hot mix to the egg mix until they are well combined, stirring the whole time.

Add the vanilla and pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 375F for 40-50 minutes or until it tests clean. Jenny Pansy of Neck, Florida says: "We use ta stir up somethin from nothin.
